No approach->one way of doing things->boredom->no ideas
1.) Draw from LIFE or PHOTOGRAPHS
-a good way to improve drawing skills
-more useful than you think
-shows, cartoons, anime interpret life
itself
-instead of learning from these, go straight to the source for new ideas (life)
2.) Make SKETCHY NOTES for Brainstorms
-many people use their sketchbook like a masterpiece book
-every single page needs to be perfect or else the world will fall apart (very debilitating way)
-don't use drawings for perfection, but for notes
-make these notes fun by making it sketchy
--'Cause a picture is worth a thousand words....
3.) Do MINDLESS SCRIBBLES
-sometimes it's best to just make random scribbles
-and yes, it will be weird
-filling your page with doodles puts something on the page
-good way to practice and very therapeutic
4.) Test Your IDEAS
-your sketchbook is like a research and development department for your brain
-where you go crazy with your drawings
-a good way to plan a big idea before executing it
5.) COPY Other ARTISTS
-IF YOU ARE COPYING OTHER ARTISTS TO PASS THEIR WORK AS YOUR OWN, THEN DON'T. COPYING IN THAT CASE IS WRONG
-copying should be used to learn from them and improve your skills as an artist
-biggest way artists learn is by copying their masters/mentors such as:
Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael
6.) Try New Mediums
-try using different tools, and colors towards your artwork
7.) STICK STUFF
-make your own cut-out, pop-up stickers. Stick em' to your sketchbook to make it look cool
-or just use normal stickers
8.) Draw FRAMES From FILMS
-as fun and easy as it sounds, it's actually very complicated
-but if you do this, you learn a lot about colors and composition
9.) Draw an Animal in YOUR STYLE
-pick any random animal and draw it in multiple, different angles and cute faces and stuff
10.)Do FINISHED DRAWINGS
-a lot of artists have difficulties finishing drawings and this is a great way to practice
-focus on making the sketch how you planned on it in the very beginning
And that's about it! I hope you enjoy these tips on more ideas on what to draw
